BREAKING: Donald Trump Makes Sad Announcement

JUST IN: President Donald Trump made a sad announcement Wednesday that has thrown the entire nation into mourning.

Trump took to Twitter this morning to honor the memory of the late Rev. Billy Graham, who passed away on Wednesday. Trump described Graham as “a very special man” who will be dearly missed.

“The GREAT Billy Graham is dead,” Trump tweeted, according to Fox News. “There was nobody like him! He will be missed by Christians and all religions. A very special man.”

Spokesman Mark DeMoss said that Graham, who long had suffered from cancer, pneumonia, and other illnesses, passed away at his North Carolina home. He was 99 years-old.

Throughout his long life, Graham transformed American religious life through his preaching and activism, becoming a counselor to presidents and the most widely heard Christian evangelist in history. Tributes to Graham have been pouring in all day from various political figures, including Vice President Mike Pence.

“Karen and I were saddened to learn of the passing of one of the greatest Americans of the century, Reverend Billy Graham. We send our deepest condolences to the Graham family,” Pence wrote on Twitter. “Billy Graham’s ministry for the gospel of Jesus Christ and his matchless voice changed the lives of millions. We mourn his passing but I know with absolute certainty that today he heard those words, “well done good and faithful servant.” Thank you Billy Graham. God bless you.”

Former President George H.W. Bush described Graham as “America’s pastor” and remembered the reverend visiting his family home in Maine, where they would take boat rides and “talk about life.”

“His faith in Christ and his totally honest evangelical spirit inspired people across the country and around the world,” Bush said. “I think Billy touched the hearts of not only Christians, but people of all faiths, because he was such a good man. I was privileged to have him as a personal friend.”

Rest in peace, Billy Graham!
